Baby's Day-Out !!!

It's Official !!! Welcome Ciara Veronica G. Gopun to the Christian World. The Baptismal Rites was held today at Sta. Maria Parish Church around 9am, then followed by the lunch reception at Al Dente Restaurant. As usual, many of us were there (except for some absentee Ninongs) to taste Vinson's choices of dishes and his forte, "DESSERTS". This pic was taken the last minute before we parted ways, for the reason i was busy eating that i forgot to take a shot :) Note: Hey Niño, what do you think you're doing in the pic??? Are you trying to hypnotize Baby Ciara??? I guess that's why she was crying that time.

Happy Easter Everybody !!!

Easter is a time of springtime festivals. In Christian countries Easter is celebrated as the religious holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of God. Traditions associated with the festival survive in the Easter rabbit, a symbol of fertility, and in colored easter eggs, originally painted with bright colors to represent the sunlight of spring, and used in Easter-egg rolling contests or given as gifts.

The Last Supper

Thursday evening was the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Jesus and the Disciples shared the Lord's Supper. Last Supper, in the New Testament, meal taken by Jesus and his disciples on the eve of the passion. Jesus broke bread and passed a cup of wine among the disciples, identifying himself with the bread and the wine and linking the meal to his impending death on the cross. The meal was an anticipation both of Jesus' death and of the eschatological banquet referred to in several Old Testament passages and by Jesus himself. Christians see the Last Supper as the original of the Eucharist. The Synoptic Gospels depict the meal as a Passover meal. The Last Supper has been a favorite subject of painting.

LIVING THE NBA FANTASY !!!

A Dream will always remain a Dream, until you get to see it LIVE !!! Well, that's the case for us basketball aficionados :) For Dominador, it finally became a reality last Wednesday March 22, 2006 when the Detroit Pistons hosted the Miami Heat, two of the best teams in the NBA.

Savouring every detail of his new surrounding, i don't know if Doming ever get to focus on the game itself. With all those sexy cheerleaders in the sidelines, who wouldn't??? hehehe. He only get to extremely watch the game during the crucial moments in the 4th quarter when the Pistons eventually routed the Heat 82-73. Hhmm ... when will i ever get my chance???

Lent is Here !!!

Literally, "lent" comes from the Anglo-Saxon word for spring. Spring is the season when all of God's creation comes back to life from the death of winter. Easter is the day when we celebrate Christ's resurrection--His victory over sin which brings us back to life from the death that separates mankind from God. Lent is a season of penitence and preparation for the resurrection day. May you be filled with joy in your humility, and purpose in your preparation.

The season of Lent is forty days, not including Sundays. Christ fasted in the wilderness forty days after his baptism. It was a time of prayerful preparation for the years of ministry that lay ahead for him.

World Welcomes Chinese New Year

Also known as the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival, one of the traditional Chinese holidays, is celebrated on the first day of the first month of the Chinese calendar, which falls on the day on which the second new moon after the day on which the winter solstice occurs .

I haven't had the chance to get an actual pic of the celebration in the downtown area last night, since i just recovered from my sickness. There were the traditional food festival like the previous years hosted by our local Filipino/Chinese restaurants wherein most customers dining are chinese, hehe.

And of course, let's all be proud .... coz the SYSHS Dragon Performers were featured in GMA Morning Show "Unang Hirit" as part of their Chinese New Year Episode. I saw it myself on TV while the group were performing in Lapaz Plaza. It's a good feeling to be part of it. Kung Hei Fat Choi!

The "CHU" SEN ONE

Many people tried ... but only "ONE" could succeed. He is of course, our very own ... Mr. Erwin Chu, the man who is now P5,000.00 richer :)

Many entries were gathered and only one was selected to be the Official Logo of SYSHS 80th Foundation Day. As you can see, the logo was all over the stage of the new building, and also on the invitation letter for the occassion. I stared at it long before i knew it was from Erwin, admiring who could have thought of this brilliant design, till his name was called that evening to receive the reward for being the "CHUsen" one.

SYSHS 80th Foundation Day

This weekend considered to be a very special occassion for our beloved school. It's the annual event we usually celebrate during our high school days, except that it's now on it's 80th year. To think that it was not long ago that we participated on a parade/motorcade (with costumes and floats) on the year ... hhmmm ... i think it was the 60th year, not sure. I remembered i was dressed as Jose Rizal and my good friend Vinson as Dr. Sun Yat Sen, hehehe. Time flies.

The affair started today with various pictures exhibit at the hallway, you guys should have seen the renovation they've done to the old as well as the new building, it looked great, we should feel proud :) I just attended the dinner function held at the new building auditorium in honor of the previous chairmans of the board since the birth of the school. Tomorrow's schedule is a thanksgiving mass, then followed by a late breakfast at The Grand Hotel. Then the finale dinner tomorrow night will also take place at the same hotel. To those who would be attending the event tomorrow, please update me some info or send me pics if possible, coz i won't be able to make it there.

Filipinos Glued To PBB !!!

For our other batchmates who are not up-to-date with the Philippines TV Scene, read this ....

For approximately 100 days, the viewers will sympathize with the 12 housemates’ daily tasks, weekly assignments and challenges that will display their true feelings and test their abilities to win over an allowance to buy anything they wish (like cigarettes, chocolates, etc.). All these while struggling everyday inside a house with 26 cameras in its every nook and cranny. On top of it all, the 12 housemates will try to survive without television, telephone, cell phones, radio, newspapers, computers, watches and without any form of contact with their loved ones for 100 days, or until the time they get eliminated.

The music track that is currently playing in our website media player is the official song of the show, which others considered as the "National Song" today, hehehe.

Soong Ching Ling , The Wife of Dr. Sun Yat Sen.

During my recent trip to Shanghai, China, i was fortunate enough to visit the residence of Dr. Sun Yat Sen's Wife, Madam Soong Ching Ling(1893-1981). She was the honorary president of the People's Republic Of China, a famous politician, an exponent of the world peace movement. She had devoted all her life to the progress of mankind and was respected as one of the greatest women of the 20th century.
